Spaced Invasion

There's a little website up today, for the upcoming Spaced US DVD promotional tour. It contains all the info and little details, so you know just what everyone will be up to. Unfortunately, Nick will not be in attendance to any of these (subject to change?). But since the US DVD is just a couple weeks away, this is still good for those interested. Like the linkage to the site, so I will return the favor. Check it out.

Frostitution YouTube

I browse YouTube a lot, and I'm sure you do too. It's also been bugging me on how I haven't added any new videos to the AV page. YouTube recently added a feature that lets you create playlists, sort of a set of themed videos for people visiting your channel.

So I figured I'd apply it to this site, since this allows me to simply group any favorited videos I come across, and it gets put in the playlist. So now the AV page has this applied, and if you'd like, hop on over and check it out in action. While there, feel free to suscribe to my YouTube channel, where I may upload a video, or favorite a new one I come across.

The Boat That Rocked

Variety has just released an article about a new movie that has begun production.

The movie, entitled "The Boat That Rocked", is written by Richard Curtis, the person behind Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, and Bridget Jones's Diary. The movie will star names such as Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy (who you may remember from two other films - take a guess), and various other people (no offense to those involved, I'm just limited to space, read the PR below for all the details). But more importantly, it will contain a Mr. Nick Frost, who plays "Dave, an ironic, intelligent and cruelly funny co-broadcaster".

"The Boat That Rocked" is an ensemble comedy in which the romance takes place between the young people of the '60s and pop music. It's about a band of rogue DJs that captivated Britain, playing the music that defined a generation and standing up to a government that, incomprehensibly, preferred jazz. The picture is billed as the first "non-rom-com".

The Boat That Rocked is currently scheduled for a release date of April 9, 2009 in the UK. No word yet on a US release.

Luckily, it only happens once a year

Today is February 14th, or the day you try your hardest to please your significant other. The last thing you need is a disgruntled partner, considering you have a whole 364 other days to do that. While you're out spending frivolously, keep in mind that the new LOST is on tonight, and sometimes, priorities change. That said, tonight's episode should be awesome!

Today is also Simon Pegg's birthday. Blessing or a curse? Either way, decide and head over to peggster.net and wish him the best.

Second, over on YouTube, one of the often asked about things and most wanted has finally appeared. For those familiar with the bio, it should stand out. One of Nick's firsts appearances on the media scene, the Pizza Hut commercial has finally surfaced!

Now some movie bits. First - Penelope. Nick has been confirmed as to be in this movie, as listed on his CV, based off some behind the scenes videos. The question is whether his role is significant. Chances are it is just a few scenes. For those interested, the film should be already available in the UK as of February 1st, and February 29th here in the States (source: IMDB). For those looking to fill the void and take the plunge -- don't blame me if the movie is a stinker. What can you do, right.

The other movie, Wild Child, has been confirmed to have Nick as well. However, it is also confirmed from Nick himself that he's only in it for a couple small scenes. Feel like taking the plunge? Have at it on August 15th, the worldwide date. You can see one of Nick's small scenes in the trailer as well. It appears at the very end of it.

That about wraps it up for this post. For those unfortunately celebrating "since when were you allergic to chocolate?" Day, I'll be thinking of you as I watch my favorite show, with nary a care in the world.

Love,

The British Comedy Awards have come and gone, and congratulations to Simon for winning an award.

But more importantly, congratulations to The Simpsons Movie for winning best british comedy film!

Wait - come again?

I certainly can't be the only one who finds the irony in seeing an American film win a British award.

Spaced coming to the US!

Just kidding, it's not what you originally thought of... yet. No, Spaced isn't coming to Region 1 (yet), but instead, getting the US makeover treatment like The Office did.

Fox "Spaced" out on Brit sitcom (Yahoo.com)

Fox is teaming with writer Adam Barr and producer McG for "Spaced," a comedy project based on the Channel 4 series of the same name from "Shaun of the Dead" masterminds Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright.

I find this news hilarous, and rather, I'm curious how this turns out. I wonder who plays Nick. According to Edgar's blog, neither him or Simon were contacted about this, but they also don't need his permission to do this.

It took a bit (just a bit), but your questions have been answered, and formatted for your computer screen. Nothing fancy or special here, just plain text, but flavorful commentary. Take a gander and look at what many of you have asked. Many thanks to Nick for doing this, and hopefully we can arrange for more of these in the future, so even more of you can get your questions in!
