Hyperdrive Series 2 - Here we go again...

Talk and gossip about the crew of the Camden Lock in this sci-fi comedy which happens to be Nick's first ever lead role.

Hyperdrive Series 2 - Here we go again...

Postby Wizard » Fri Jul 13, 2007 4:44 am

Nick Frost is a naturally funny man and a great actor...why is he wading through the tedium of this unengaging and unfunny show?
(I hope that the reason is a sack load of cash...in that case, fair enough!)

Your agent is letting you down Nick...get in a BBC one off drama, I think you would shine on a panel show (..one of the better ones like Mock the Week..), get in an independent film, steal a tank and invade Paris..just don't do another series of Hyperdrive...pleeeeeeaaaaaasse

Not meaning to chew your head off here, but any specific explanations as to why you dislike Hyperdrive? Contrary to what you said about it being unfunny, a lot of us here consider it as high comedy! Welcome to Frositution all the same

Thanks for the Welcome!

Why is it not funny?..laboured script, no jokes, elongated contrived set-ups with no punchline (that I could see)...

..to me it just seems like a run of the mill, sit com with nothing to seperate it from 100 other cookie-cutter sit coms...NF is the only good thing in it but even his mighty presence is not enough to save this crew...(I love Kevin Eldon too...why are they doing this to me!)

Hi Wiz,

There is a series two thread already viewtopic.php?t=3115&start=75 where I have so far been the only voice of concern about how terrible Hyperdrive is.

Why no add your comments over on that thread so it doesn't look like it's just me who knows it should have been cancelled at the end of last year.

I don't think it's a great show, but I definately do think it's a good show. My opinions are kinda biased cuz I tend to dislike the sci-fi genre.

I don't think Hyperdrive is a shining spot for Nick, but it's certainly not awful.

Everyone keeps comparing what he does to Spaced, and it makes peoples views more skewed.

Did you think manstrokewoman was bad, too?
Sigh. You really don't like anything, do you Thomas?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
