Did anyone watch Hyperdrive last night??

I thought it was genius and it was nice to see Nick Frost have a lead - the jokes could have been a bit funnier tho

I wasn't too keen on the bit where the glish wanted to rub their gentials on his head - that should be reserved only for me

I can't believe this got made. If you write it down on paper, it sounds dreadful, but it's actually really good. Subtle and funny.

I'm not sure who the lady is, but she is very funny.

Plus, Nick is looking mighty fine in this one.
Grrrowlll....

For some reason it was really awkward to watch...

The part where they slobber their hands up I just couldn't watch it with a straight face, and I wasn't laughing either.

I found the part where the blood splats against the window to be good

Also, when he's in the chair and goes "hmm let me have a think hmmm let me have a think" -- that came directly from Danger, 50,000 Volts

I did genuinly enjoy it but I can see why you would have felt that.
I don't think this will get past the first seriese which is a shame becuase I think it's much more of a grower than a shower.

A lot of comedy nowerdays seems to be based on repatition rahter than solid jokes, i hope they can find ways to develop the seriese.

Episode One's are always about setting scenes and introducing characters. Hopefully the set up is now established and we can move forward.

I never enjoy character based comedies as much as situation based ones. There's still the Mystic Sally Phillips to come. She's good in pretty much everything.

And that dark haired lass is very, very funny. Don't know her name, but she is good.

The Actor Kevin Eldon needs to be more Funny and less Just Wierd imho.

imho is an internet acronym for In My Hot Orifice.

More of a grower than a shower? That's f*ing priceless man.

I don't know what all the worrying is about you guys, I really liked the first episode. It was nice to see Nick leading a show with a whole cast of characters, he seemed quite relaxed as well. I mean, for as absurd as the episode was, it wasn't over the top for me. Can't wait til next week.

I really have no idea what the rest of the world will think of it though, I'm too much of a fan to speak objectively.

I think that's what worries me. I go a bit doey eyed when Frosto is on screen.

He might just be the perfect human being*.

Either way. I did enjoy it but I could understand why a lot of other people might not. Or wouldn't. Or won't even tune in.

Now I'm torn in my opinion. Do I just like it becuase it's got Nick Frost looking sexy in a beard, or do I JUST (me and probably not some of my friends) like it becuase they're fucking idiots who can't think something is funny unless it's been sanctioned by Ricky Fucking GerWankerVaise?

Right. I'm going to stand in the garden and try to breathe off some of this Jack Daniels. A cigarette will help. Yes.

I watch stuff just because Nick is in it, but it still doesn't make it overall good as a whole.

Do I like it because it's funny, or because it's something that Nick Frost is in? Hmm... I like it because Nick Frost is in it. I believe there is meaning in that statement beyond the obvious, but perhaps the obvious reading should hold enough meaning in itself. Somewhere in that ambiguity lies the answer to the question I think, but to be honest, I don't feel overly compelled to sort it all out.

I'll probably never meet the man, and if I do, probably not for more than a minute or two, wherein I'll try my best not to lose my shit and come across like a complete idiot or a stalker. In the meantime, however, I take great joy in supporting him and his career in whatever small way I can, whether it be purchasing dvd's of his work, keeping this community alive and kicking, or just spreading the word to the people that I know.
